Preparing for Life after College

After I graduate this Spring, I’ll start my full time job as a process engineer at Kraton Polymers. The plant I will work at is in Belpre, Ohio (only about 40 minutes from campus), so it’s not a far move! I did three co-op rotations at Kraton, so this transition won’t be too difficult.

Kraton is one of many employers that have a great relationship with Russ College, so I was able to get my co-op with the company through the college. I hope to be able to come back for a career fair and help recruit future engineers.

In order to prepare for my move, I first had to find an apartment. After searching for about a month, I found one about 20 minutes from my plant. I’m now trying to find cheap, but still nice furniture and kitchenware. Anytime I visit family, I come back with their old plates and glasses, and was even able to score a crock pot, and a George Foreman grill.

While preparing for the next step in my life, I try to remember to enjoy these last few months I still have at Ohio University. I try to take time to walk to College Green, go to the shops on Court Street, and enjoy hanging out with my classmates who have become my best friends.
